    Fri 18 Oct 2019

Thank you to all those who were able to assist the children making scarecrows today – they look fabulous! It was very pleasing to see the children, staff and families all working together, enjoying themselves. Our scarecrows will be in place for the Pendle Scarecrow Festival on 26th/27th October 2019. A big thank you for all your help tending to the school garden – it looks great!

  • Reading Challenge 2019

    Fri 18 Oct 2019

Thank you to all those who brought in their entries for our reading challenge – Where is the most unusual place you have been caught reading? We have had some very creative locations this year, which made it very difficult for Margaret to judge. After a long deliberation, we are pleased to congratulate Mia Urwin, Connor Fenn, Lewis Jervis and Lewis Hacking-Fenn as our competition winners. During our celebration assembly this afternoon they all selected a brand new reading book and a tasty treat. All children who entered the competition received a small prize.

  • Healthy Minds Matter

    Fri 18 Oct 2019

As part of our mental health and wellbeing provisions some Junior children, who regularly attend the Healthy Minds After School Club on a Tuesday, visited Marsden Grange Care Home yesterday. They had great fun with the residents, playing games and applying what they have learnt at the club. It was a very enjoyable afternoon for all involved. For the children who were unable to attend this time, please feel reassured that there will be other opportunities to attend. Thank you to the staff and residents of Marsden Grange for their lovely hospitality and Mrs Hezzlewood for organising this wonderful opportunity. A special thank you must be made to Lewis Hacking-Fenn for being an outstanding and attentive waiter.

  • Life Education 2019

    Fri 18 Oct 2019

On Wednesday, Stephen and Emma from the ‘Life Education’ visited school and taught the children a variety of life skills, ranging from the importance of a healthy body and mind to the dangers of medicines, drugs and smoking – focusing on the importance of making good life choices. This links to our school Christian motto – Therefore, Choose. The children’s highlight was of course meeting Harold the Giraffe. Stephen and Emma both commented on the impeccable behaviour and outstanding enthusiasm to learning our children have.

  • RotaKids Pet Week - September 2019

    Fri 04 Oct 2019

The children have thoroughly enjoyed ‘Pet Week’ and have learnt some fascinating facts about the animals we share our lives with. It was wonderful to watch the children confidently present to their friends about a topic they are so passionate about. Thank you to everyone who joined in and to all the pets who visited us –they were very well behaved. The RotaKids would also like to say a big thank you for all your donations. We raised a substantial amount and as a result in Celebration Assembly this morning the children selected Cookie as the guide dog puppy they want to sponsor. Throughout the year they will receive regular updates on how Cookie’s training is progressing.

This wonderful gesture is indicative of our Christian school, where our children put others first, as Jesus taught us. They have all had fun and learnt something new this week, and have made a huge positive difference to the quality of life of someone in need. We are all very proud of our children and specifically our RotaKids, who organised this fabulous week.
