Infants

Welcome to our Class Page!

This page is for our Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 children who make up the infants class.  We will be putting regular updates on here showing what the children are doing throughout the year.

Below are the learning overviews showing what we intend to learn about this half term.

The Reception children have been learning about Africa. They listened to African music, then explored different instruments. The then moved like animals that live in Africa.

Our year 1 and 2 children have been learning about colour mixing. They learned about the primary colours and how they can be mixed to make the secondary colours. They then experimented with adding different amounts of white to make tints. Finally they created a painting inspired by Paul Klee.

These overviews show what the children will be learning over the half term.

Our Early Years children have been learning about different celebrations. They have explored Bonfire night, birthdays and weddings so far. They will continue to learn about other celebrations too.

Our Reception children have been working very hard in maths. They have been identifying and ordering numbers, counting objects and finding the matching number and making repeating patterns.

Year 1 children have been doing lots of practical maths. They have been counting in groups, making different numbers and comparing measures.

Below are the learning overviews to the infant class. There is one for the Reception children and one for Year 1 and Year 2.

In DT we have been designing and making bunting to help children learn to count. We decided what colour felt to use and cut it out using a template. We then followed our plan to add a number and objects. We used running stitch to hang them up and sew on the numbers.

The children went on an Autumn walk. They were looking for the signs of Autumn then wrote a recount of the walk.
