Welcome to our Class Page!

This page is for our Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 children who make up the infants class.  We will be putting regular updates on here showing what the children are doing throughout the year.

Our Reception children have been applying their learning in order to write their ideas down.

The Year 1 and 2 children have been doing lots of practical maths to help them with their written maths.

These overviews show what the children will be leraning in this final half term of the year.

The children had a fabulous time evaluating lunchboxes. Next they worked with a partner to design and make their own lunchboxes. Then they tested their lunchboxes to see if they worked. Finally they made chenges to their lunchboxes and tested them again.

Our Year 1 and 2 children have been working very hard in maths, covering lots of different things.

These overviews show what the children will be learning about for this half term.

We have been learning about fractions. We have found fractions of shapes and used this to help us find fractions of numbers.

We enjoyed PE in the rare March sunshine. We played different games and ended with frog jumps along the football pitch.

Year 1 and 2 have been making amounts using 10p and 1p coins, adding and subtracting tens and using ordinal language.

Our Reception children have using play dough to create lots of things, playing bingo and using and following positional language.

The children were set a design brief to design and make bunting that would help young children learn to count.  The children looked at different designs, then designed their own.  They had great fun choosing colours, beads and sewing their bunting.

Our Reception children have been exploring making repeating patterns with different things. They have also had a fabulous time in our cafe.

Our year 1 children have being sorting shapes according to their properties into Venn Diagrams. The year 2 children have been exploring which shapes tessellate.

We have been doing PE outside while it is still fine. The children have been developing their moving, throwing and catching skills. This is something that you could continue to work on at home.

We had great fun today exploring how cornflour slime behaves and changes. The children were amazed to see the different things the cornflour could do.

The year 1 children have been using cubes to find pairs that make 10. They then found the matching number sentence or tried to write the number sentence.

We are learning all about the Gunpowder Plot. The children pretended to be the plotters and thought about what they might say to each other. They enjoyed acting it out for the rest of us.

The children in year 1 have been busy in maths, they showed off their ability to order numbers to 20. Then work out which number had been removed.

All the children have settled in fantasictally well. We have also had plenty of fun.

'Wow' Moments!

Reception children have brought home letters about 'wow' moments. Please feel free to share anything your child has done that they or you are proud of, no matter how small it seems, on the slips sent home. If you would like more slips they are located on the window inside the classroom door.
