Infants

Welcome to our Class Page!

This page is for our Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 children who make up the infants class.  We will be putting regular updates on here showing what the children are doing throughout the year.

Below are the overviews for this half term.

These overviews cover what we intend to learn over this half term.

Gary from Flat Stan came in to school to teach the children basic first aid. They had a fabulous time learning about what to do in an emergency. The learned about how to check someone, how to give CPR and what to do if somone is choking or bleeding.

Our next work with colour mixing has been making tints. The children mixed their chosen colour with white paint, adding more each time to create different tints in the style of Mark Rothko.

The children have been exploring colours. They have been mixing primary colours to make secondary colours. We noticed that even if we mixed the same colours the colour we made might be different.

These overviews show what we will be learning this half term.

The Reception and Year 1 children had an amazing time with Emma from Go Velo. She was teaching the children how to safely use balance bikes. Once they could do this safely and cofidently they tried using pedal bikes. All the chidlren were fabulous, despite the very cold weather.

We have been learning about collage. The children were then asked to cut and tear paper to create a piece of fruit.

These overviews show what we will be learning about this half term. They have also been sent out as a paper copy.

Our Reception children are having great fun learning and playing different number games. Here they are playing bingo.

Year 2 had a brilliant time practising their number bonds to 20 while playing a fun game of Go Fish!

The reception children thoroughly enjoyed developing their fine motor skills by threading. First they threaded any animals they wanted. Then they sorted the objects to thread.

Reception Matching Game

Reception had great fun playing this matching game. They had to match the professional with the correct picture and they did a fantastic job!
