Thank you to all those who were able to attend our Music Concert. I’m certain you will agree that the children performed amazingly well. They are a credit to our school and did Mr Galea (our music teacher) proud in his absence. Thank you to all those parents who joined in with the singing, it was clear to see how much it meant to the children. A special mention must be made to Amalie, who kindly volunteered to change her roll during the Morris dancing, and to George, who took charge and lead the ukulele performances. Well done!
Our Junior children enjoyed a very informative and exciting day at the Jorvik Centre. They explored a real Viking dig and examined a variety of artefacts. They also had the experience of being an archaeologist. Following this the children explored a traditional Viking town, which included smells and sounds. They were then taught a variety of battle tactics, which included the children using shields and weapons. Finally the children finished the day with traditional Viking stories. The children’s conduct was exemplary and commented on by many.
Children from our RotaKids enjoyed a very informative and exciting day at Lancaster University. They explored a variety of practical workshops, focusing on a range of charities, first aid and nature projects. The children’s conduct was impeccable.
On Wednesday Bishop Phillip lead our act of collective worship and blessed our new outdoor worship area. He was very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm, behaviour and knowledge of our Christian faith. He has kindly invited our Infant children to join him at his home for a special teddy bear’s picnic. He has also invited our Junior children to join him at for a special service at Blackburn Cathedral. These invitations have reinforced to the children our belief that good behaviour gets you noticed!
