The children explored the relevance of our school vision, mission statement and motto to their lives and explored our focused Christian values. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a variety of activities including role-play & drama, being Bible detectives, arts & crafts, singing and making their very own videos.
Wow, what an exciting, fun and extremely busy week in school. This week we have had a focus on Art and Mrs Clarke (our Art Subject Leader) organised a wonderful Art Week. The children were placed in mixed aged groups and focused on two distinctive styles of art – Pop Art and Post Impressionism (creating a Starry Night). They also focused on two specific artists – Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh. They explored printing, by using a range of stamps and creating their own stamps using fruit, vegetables, clay and polystyrene. The children also explored using a range of pastels and paints to create various brush strokes and effects. Their art work is amazing and will be proudly displayed in school.
