Thank you to all those families who were able to celebrate and share in our school’s and children’s many successes in church this morning. It is always wonderful to see the wide range of achievements being acknowledged (sports, academic progress, creativity, courtesy, music, determination, perseverance, behaviour, outstanding team spirit and many more). It was also amazing to be able to present so many ‘Attendance’ trophies and we hope to be able to present a lot more next term.
Our Reception and Year children have thoroughly enjoyed their bikeability sessions this week with Emma from Go Velo. They have developed their confidence and ability to accurately control, ride and stop their bike. This is excellent foundations for when they complete their advanced bikeability training in the Juniors.
The children enjoyed a very well deserved party, with a visitor from the North Pole bearing gifts. Their behaviour was superb! Our children are a true credit to our school and their families.
The staff, governors and children all enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch on Tuesday. Christmas is the only time in the year when we all dine together, which makes it a very special experience for all involved. A special thank you to Kiera and Miss Lord who work tirelessly all year round ensuring our children have access to high quality, healthy school meals.
Our school Christmas Fair was a huge success today, with the children having a great time at all the stalls and activities. Thank you to all our families for all your very generous donations and wonderful support. The school raised £339.35, which will go directly on providing the children with additional enrichment activities throughout the year. It is always amazing to see our whole school community come together for these very special events – we are fortunate to have such a wonderful school family here at Roughlee!
This year’s Christmas production of 'It's a baby!' was fabulous! The children sang beautifully and were captivating. They have worked hard learning their parts with fantastic results. We are rightly proud of every single child and their performance. Thank you to the staff and all those who helped make this a very wonderful and memorable evening for the children. One of the highlights of the evening was watching all our families and children performing together at the end – this was simply a magical experience for everyone in church.
Wow, what a fabulous and delicious afternoon we have enjoyed today. Our Rotakids organised a scrumptious Bake Sale and raised an amazing £129.39. Thank you to all those who were able to join us in school this afternoon and for all those who kindly donated baked goods to sell. The children and staff had a great afternoon and all monies raised will go to Pendleside Hospice, which is our focused Rotakids Charity. Well done to everyone who was involved!
